DJ Brian Smith at Hotel Adeline during The DJ Collective in Scottsdale Arizona

Oh Hey!

I’m Brian and I’m a DJ, Lighting Designer, Husband and Father. I’m Boston born, raised and it’s still where I call home. I was brought up to love music and it has been part of my life story, from touring with punk rock bands, to stage managing massive festivals and using music to help people celebrate life’s moments.

Helping others to celebrate feeds my soul. For a decade I was an EMT in Boston and I was at the finish line of the Boston Marathon bombing. I had to take care of people on their worst days, and in the case of the marathon, mine. Now I take care of people on their best days and I could not ask for anything more.

“Brian is truly exceptional, and we cannot overstate how invaluable he was in making our wedding a success! Leading up to the event, he was extremely organized and made the planning process really easy. He put a ton of effort into understanding our vision, and was super helpful in offering advice when we needed. Working with Brian was one of the absolute best decisions we made! He was a delight to work with, an incredible DJ to party with, and our wedding would not have been the same without him!”

When I started DJ’ing I knew that I didn’t and couldn’t fit into the stereotypical mold of the “wedding DJ”. There had to be a better way, and some of the old traditions needed to change. I immersed myself in education and surrounding myself with industry peers who saw things differently and continue to do so to this day.

I eventually took the same attitude to lighting, ‘wedding DJ” lighting was bad… really bad. Lighting can make or break the atmosphere of any event. When I think of my fondest memories the light of the moment always plays a role. I was once just a student in my industry, now I’m honored to also be an educator to other DJs on lighting.

I use light and music to create vibrant moments for modern people who care less about tradition and more about experience for them and their guests.

Let’s create…
